WARSAW, January 6, 2004. /RIA Novosti correspondent Leonid Sviridov/ -- The Polish city of Wroclaw is hosting an exhibition titled "100th anniversary of Russian poster" that presents 121 Russian and Soviet posters.

The oldest was published back in 1897 in the tsarist Russia.

Visitors can see advertising, propaganda, theatre and cinema posters. "We have tried to represent Russia's 100-year history with the assistance of posters as a special kind of art," an exhibition employee says. According to her, the posters brought from Moscow are as different and varied as Russia's history.

The exhibition's organizers have prepared reproductions of most of the exhibited posters for the visitors to buy.

The exhibition will close on February 8th.
