GEORGIA TO EXTEND VOTING TIME?

TBILISI, January 4, 2004 (RIA Novosti) - Georgia's presidential vote may be prolonged. Polling stations will remain open until all voters, who will come before 8 p.m. local time cast their votes, Zurab Chiaberashvili, Georgia's Central Election Commission chief, told Novosti-Georgia news agency.

This decision was adopted to prevent queues at the polling stations in the evening, according to Mr Chiaberashvili. All voters who will come to the stations will, thereby, be able to take part in the early presidential elections.
