US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov are holding a joint press conference following their meeting in Sochi on 14 May.

The US secretary of state has also held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Both the Russian Foreign Ministry and the State Department announced that their top diplomats would address a wide range of pressing international issues.

This includes crisis-hit Venezuela, the situation in Iran amid the heightened tensions around the JCPOA, as well as the situation in Syria and the denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula, according to the announcement.
