According to the organizers of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit, which is being co-hosted by Ivanka Trump with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, around 44,000 applications have come in for a seat in the venue that can actually accommodate only 400 delegates.

New Delhi (Sputnik) — The three-day conclave of entrepreneurs in India's southern city of Hyderabad is already oversubscribed with people queuing up outside the registration to secure admission to the event. The crowd puller is none other than Ivanka Trump, the first daughter of US President Donald Trump.

While the three-day Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) beginning November 28, which Ivanka Trump will address, can accommodate only a maximum of 400 delegates, thousands of applications have come in from parties interested in partaking in the event. As the head of the American delegation, Ivanka Trump will co-host the summit with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Definitely, the response is much, much more than the 400 limit. India has become a very important startup destination. Also, when she (Ivanka) speaks as the head of the US delegation, in a way she will be communicating what is the official position of the US government about entrepreneurship, about startups," Jayesh Ranjan, a government official who is part of the organizing team, told the local media in Hyderabad.

For Ivanka, who is a senior advisor to the US president, this is the first time she will be leading a business delegation to support women's entrepreneurship globally.

The GES, originally conceived by former US President Barack Obama, has been themed "Women First, Prosperity for All" this year. Bilateral trade between India and US touched about $115 billion last year and both countries together have a target to raise it to $500 billion by 2022.
