MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is expected to attend the 71th session of the UN General Assembly, scheduled to take place in September in New York, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi said Wednesday.
The deputy foreign minister did not rule out the possibility that Iranian President Hassan Rouhani may also attend the event.
"We are investigating the issue and its fields to make the appropriate decision," Takht-Ravanchi was quoted as saying by the ISNA news agency, commenting on the likelihood of Rouhani traveling to New York.
The 71th session of the UN General Assembly is scheduled to open on September 13 at the UN headquarters in New York.
