MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Putin and Erdogan are scheduled to meet on Tuesday, August 9, in Russia's second-largest city of St. Petersburg. The meeting is set to be the first since the Su-24 downing incident by a Turkish jet in November 2015 over Syria.
"Of course, the Syrian crisis will be discussed in great detail, and we hope that the Turkish position will have a more constructive character in the given context," Ushakov said.
