MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russian Helicopters holding is studying causes of the crash landing of the Pakistan’s Mi-17 in Afghanistan, a company’s spokesperson said on Friday.
"The Pakistan’s civil helicopter Mi-17 driven by Pakistani pilots was heading for one of the plants of the Russian Helicopters holding for repairing works. Our experts are now in permanent communication with the Foreign Ministry and Pakistani authorities. Causes of the incident are being studied," the spokesperson told RIA Novosti.
The spokesperson added that the contract for repairing works was signed in July 2016.
The helicopter reportedly flew from Peshawar to Uzbekistan’s city of Bukhara when the crash landing occurred. According to Pakistan’s media, seven people on board including one Russian citizen were taken hostages by the Taliban militants.
