WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The United States and Mexico are in the process of working out an agreement to share nuclear technology for civilian uses, US President Barack Obama said at the White House on Friday during a news conference with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto.
"We are pursuing an agreement this year on sharing civilian nuclear technology," Obama stated.
The United States and Mexico are working together to combat problems caused by illegal drugs, as well as organized crime, according to Obama.
"Here in the United States, we are working to improve treatment and prevention and reduce the availability of illicit drugs, and I applaud President Nieto’s commitment to combatting organized crime and for developing a new plan to curb poppy cultivation and heroin production," Obama stated.
