MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Russian Cabinet has signed a directive to resume the work of the Russian-Turkish intergovernmental trade commission as well as negotiations on a program of bilateral cooperation until 2020, according to a document posted on the government's website on Friday.
Activities of the Russian-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, formed in 1992, were suspended in November, 2015, by a decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin following the downing of a Russian Su-24 combat plane over Syria by a Turkish F-16 fighter jet.
The same decree suspended the negotiation and drafting process for the bilateral Agreement on Trade in Services and Investments and the Middle-term program for economic, trade, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation for 2016-2019.
