MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Late on Thursday evening, a heavy truck hit a crowd celebrating the Bastille Day in Nice, killing 84 and injuring dozens more.
"This attack targeted innocent people and the core values for which NATO stands. But terrorism will never defeat democracy, freedom and our open societies," Stoltenberg said in a statement.
The secretary general added he was appalled and saddened by the tragedy.
