Kazakhstan, among Bolivia, Sweden and Ethiopia, were elected to become UNSC non-permanent members during 2017-2018.

UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) — Kazakhstan was elected on Tuesday a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council (UNSC) for the period of 2017-2018, according to vote results.

Earlier in the day, Bolivia, Sweden and Ethiopia have been elected to become UNSC non-permanent members during 2017-2018.

Italy and the Netherlands are also seeking non-permanent membership in the UNSC.
