Ottawa is taking steps to boost the country’s space-based maritime surveillance, Canada’s Department of National Defense said in a press release on Friday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Sajjan is scheduled to disclose details of the project later in the day.

"On behalf of the Government of Canada, Defense Minister Harjit S. Sajjan will make an announcement about improvements to Canadian Armed Forces operations involving space-based maritime surveillance capabilities," the release stated.
