French Civil Aviation Body Checking Safety Background of Lost EgyptAir Jet

According to a spokesperson for France’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation, aviation body is checking information on the safety of the EgyptAir MS804 passenger plane.

Greek Civil Aviation Aut Won't Confirm Flight MS804 Fell Into Mediterranean
MOSCOW (Sputnik) A spokesperson for France’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation told Sputnik on Thursday that the aviation body is checking information on the safety of the EgyptAir MS804 passenger plane, which disappeared over the the Mediterranean Sea.

"We are checking this information [on the safety of the aircraft], but we are giving this information to the authorities," the spokesperson said answering the question whether safety checks of the lost plane had been conducted before.

Egypt Air Flight MS804 departed from the Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris at 23:09 GMT. The aircraft was heading for Cairo International Airport. According to the airline, there were a total of 66 people on board the plane, including 56 passengers, including the nationals of both Egypt and France among others.
