MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Moscow is closely monitoring the the statements made during the meeting of the leaders of France, Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom and Italy in Germany's Hannover, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday.
"So far, we have not captured any new elements, but we surely do closely monitor the whole range of statements, [which are] traditionally made in a variety of formats," Peskov told reporters.
The European leaders were expected to discuss a wide range of issues, including conflicts in the Middle East, the Ukrainian crisis and anti-Russian sanctions imposed over it and the migrant crisis in Europe.
Ahead of Obama's visit to Hannover, thousands of Germans protested the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP), a planned free trade agreement between Washington and Brussels, which was part of the Obama-Merkel agenda during the bilateral meeting.
