US President Barack Obama said that the EU-US Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) deal, which is pending ratification by the sides, would only strengthen the bilateral relations between the United States and the European Union.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Trade relations between the United States and the European Union are one of the most robust in the world, US President Barack Obama said Sunday.

"Europe and the United States is already one of the most robust trading relationships in the world," Obama said at a joint press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in the German city of Hannover, broadcast by the TRT World news channel.

According to Obama, the EU-US Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) deal, which is pending ratification by the sides, would only strengthen the bilateral relations.
