MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Gen. Valeriy Gerasimov met Defense Minister Mansur Muhammad Dan-Ali as part of his state visit to Russia.
"The sides held a substantial discussion on topical issues on the bilateral agenda in the fields of military-technical cooperation, and exchanged views on a range of international security issues of common interest," the ministry’s press office said.
Gerasimov and Dan-Ali confirmed their support for further dialogue and practical defense cooperation, the ministry added.
The countries’ military cooperation accompanies an agreement on a joint project to design, develop, construct, operate and eventually decommission a nuclear power plant, which was signed in 2012 and scheduled for completion in 2025.
