MOSCOW (Sputnik) — US actions aim to weaken its strategic competitors, first and foremost Russia, and pose a threat for Russia's national security, Deputy Chief of the Russian General Staff Academy Gen. Maj. Sergei Chvarkov said Tuesday.
"US actions lie in the basis of the negative development of the international situation. While trying to reach global hegemony [the United States] is forming global instability in order to weaken its strategic competitors, first and foremost Russia, and posing a threat for our country's national security," Chvarkov said in Moscow.
