MOSCOW(Sputnik) — The Russian Central Bank is currently negotiating further cooperation with the Iranian financial watchdog, the head of the Central Bank's insurance market department said Tuesday.
"We have just had the usual discussion between two watchdogs [with] the Iranian watchdog. This is the beginning of our work… We support constructive cooperation. This is the first stage of a conversation," Igor Zhuk told reporters on the sidelines of the Russian parliament's lower chamber meeting on finance market.
Iran is seeking to reach foreign markets in different spheres, as, on Saturday, the European Union, the United States and the United Nations lifted sanctions against Iran after the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) verified Tehran’s compliance with a nuclear agreement reached in July 2015 with six world powers, including Russia, the United States, China, France and the United Kingdom and Germany.
