“We do not rule out the possibility of ruble-real transactions, based on the fact that the volume in trade will grow, and, accordingly, the ruble will appear at Iranian banks," Manturov said in the interview on Vesti v Subbotu (Saturday News) show on Rossiya-1 television.
According to Manturov, the trade turnover between the two countries could amount to around $5 billion in five years.
The Russia-Iran Trade and Industrial Dialogue exhibition was held in the Iranian capital on December 21-23. Manturov headed the Russian delegation to the event, where Russian companies showcased their export and investment potential.
The event was attended by several Iranian ministers, including the defense, communications and agriculture ministers. The sides discussed the conditions of signing an agreement, which would facilitate the exchange rates and the development of economic and trade ties, according to media reports.
