Russian Foreign Ministry Warns of Imminent Terror Threat in Indonesia

In connection with the obtained information on the terrorist threat in Indonesia, the Russian Foreign Ministry recommends Russian citizens traveling to the country to display increased vigilance, refrain from visiting crowded places and not to leave the guarded resort areas without absolute necessity, according to the statement.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Russian Foreign Ministry warns of possible exacerbation of the terrorist threat in Indonesia and recommends the Russian nationals to stay in the guarded resorts.

"In connection with the obtained information on the possible aggravation of the terrorist threat in Indonesia, the Russian Foreign Ministry recommends Russian citizens traveling to the country to display increased vigilance, refrain from visiting crowded places and not to leave the guarded resort areas without absolute necessity," the ministry said in a statement.

In case of emergency, the Russian nationals are recommended to contact the Russian Embassy in Indonesia, the statement read.

On November 25, Indonesian authorities enhanced security across the country, in particular at airports, the presidential palace, foreign diplomatic missions and shopping centers, after a video threatening attacks against police and other targets was posted online.
