MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Prior to the meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, Muallem gave a positive assessment to the Russian aerial operation in Syria.
"All this allows me to say that we are now in the stage of an unprecedented strategic partnership between Russia and Syria," Muallem said.
The Syrian minister also gave a positive assessment of the Russian aerial campaign in Syria against terrorists.
Russia commenced precision airstrikes against the Islamic State in Syria on September 30, following a request from Syrian President Bashar Assad, and has since destroyed over 3,000 terrorist targets.
