US Secretary of State John Kerry said that US-led coalition against the Islamic State (ISIL) jihadist group agreed on Tuesday to boost information exchange between the member states to defeat the extremists.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) A US-led coalition against the Islamic State (ISIL) jihadist group agreed on Tuesday to boost information exchange between the member states to defeat the extremists, US Secretary of State John Kerry said.

"The level of cooperation could not be higher. We agreed to exchange more information and I'm convinced that over the course of the next weeks, Daesh [ISIL] will feel greater pressure,” Kerry said after his meeting with French President Francois Hollande in Paris, as quoted by the BBC.

The US secretary of state added that ISIL terrorists have lost control of territory in Iraq and Syria due to international efforts in fighting what the US President refers to as a "death cult."

The United States leads a coalition of some 60 countries, including France, launching airstrikes against ISIL positions and training local opposition forces in Syria and Iraq.
