The pyramids are due to light up at 9:30 Cairo Local Time (22:30 Moscow time); the colors will alternate between the flags of Egypt and France as well as the flags of Egypt and Russia, according to the Egyptian state news agency MENA.
The agency reported that the national flags of Russia (white, blue and red) France (blue, white and red), and Egypt (red, white and black) will also be raised around the pyramids during the ceremony, which will wrap up with a minute of silence.

The ceremony comes a day after several landmark buildings across the world were lit up with the French tricolor flag, including the Empire State Building in New York, the Sydney Opera House, the CN Tower in Toronto, San Francisco's Blue Hall and Mexico City's senate building.
