MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The RT global news network is currently in talks with Ecuador and Cuba over launching its services in those countries, Editor-in-Chief Margarita Simonyan said Thursday.
"Last year, the broadcasting of our channel was launched in Argentina on the state federal network… Venezuela and Bolivia came after that, now talks are taking place with Ecuador and Cuba," Simonyan told the Izvestiya newspaper.
RT is an international news network which broadcasts in 24/7 in English, Spanish and Arabic. It has been nominated for three Emmy awards, and was the first news channel to get a billion views on YouTube.
RT’s Spanish-language service was launched in 2009. Since 2014, it has significantly expanded its broadcasting across Latin America.
