MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Throughout the past year, Russia has contributed $120 million to international organizations and the funds of various countries to help overcome humanitarian crises, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry's General Secretariat said Thursday.
Apart from providing financial assistance to international aid organizations, Russia has been directly assisting dozens of countries, among them Syria and Ukraine, both suffering from military conflicts.
Earlier in the day, Russia’s 41st humanitarian aid convoy delivered assistance to the residents of Ukraine’s crisis-hit southeast. Overall, Russia has sent some 50,000 metric tons of humanitarian aid to Donbas since the beginning of the conflict between Kiev and southeast militia in April 2014.
