UN Humanitarian Agencies Face Financial Breakdown Amid Refugee Crises
"Last year, Russia allocated $120 million through international organizations to help overcome the consequences of humanitarian crises and emergency assistance to the population in different countries. This year, $60 million has already been allocated for these purposes. Not only have the financial parameters of our involvement in such activities enlarged, but also the geography," Pavel Kuznetsov said, speaking at a round table in the upper house of the Russian parliament.

Apart from providing financial assistance to international aid organizations, Russia has been directly assisting dozens of countries, among them Syria and Ukraine, both suffering from military conflicts.

Earlier in the day, Russia’s 41st humanitarian aid convoy delivered assistance to the residents of Ukraine’s crisis-hit southeast. Overall, Russia has sent some 50,000 metric tons of humanitarian aid to Donbas since the beginning of the conflict between Kiev and southeast militia in April 2014.
