CAIRO (Sputnik) – It is necessary to destroy all sources of terrorism once and for all, no matter how long it takes, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi said Monday.
“Egypt links the victory over terrorism with the stability in the region. It is necessary to join efforts in order to eliminate this evil. We have always been aware of the necessity to eradicate the sources of terrorism, even if it requires a lot of time,” Sisi said.
The Egyptian president expressed regret at the number of countries that suffer from the activities of terrorist groups.
Egypt has recently seen an upsurge in attacks from the so-called Sinai Province militant group, previously known as Ansar Bait al-Maqdis, prior to allying itself with IS in 2014.
