MSF Hospital Terror: 'Bombing Continued Despite Our Calls to US Officials’
The bombing of the Medecins Sans Frontieres hospital in the northern Afghan city of Kunduz on October was a "grave violation of international law," Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated on Monday.

"Representatives of Medecins Sans Frontieres have called the airstrike a grave violation of international law. It is hard to disagree with that conclusion."

"Particularly perplexing is the fact that the attack was carried out despite the international coalition being provided with the exact coordinates of the hospital, in order to prevent possible attacks."

MSF Calls for Independent Inquiry Into Kunduz Hospital Bombing
"According to statements from Medecins Sans Frontieres, at the time of the attack there were no fighters of extremist groups in the hospital."

"It should be noted that this is not the first time by far that civilians have been killed in Afghanistan because of the indiscriminate use of weapons by American forces."

"We resolutely condemn the airstrike on a civilian target. We demand an immediate objective investigation into what happened, and punishment for those responsible for the tragedy."

"We express our sincere condolences to the families of those killed, and wish a speedy recovery to those who were injured."

On October 3, repeated US airstrikes on the Medecins Sans Frontieres hospital in Kunduz killed 12 members of staff and ten patients, and wounded 40 others. At the time of the bombing, which lasted nearly an hour, more than 105 patients and 80 doctors were inside.
