VLADIVOSTOK (Sputnik) Russia’s Federal Air Navigation Authority (FANA) and the North Korean General Civil Aviation Administration have signed an agreement on cooperation between the two countries in the field of air transport, search and rescue, FANA chief, Alexander Neradko, said Friday.

During the meeting, the heads of the Russian and North Korean aviation authorities discussed opportunities for cooperation in the field of civil aviation, including air transport, the use of Russian-made civil aviation technology by the Air Koryo company and the training of aviation personnel.

"We intend to continue to strengthen sectoral cooperation between our countries and are happy to receive students from the DPRK in our universities. After all, the younger generation is the future of our economy," Neradko added.

The agreement lists services responsible for air search and rescue missions, as well as a procedure for carrying out joint operations, among other points.
