Ukrainian women’s rights activists have pledged to shake Europe with a series of topless protests.
“We can’t wait to shake Europe and its manifests,” Oleksandra Shevchenko, a member of the group, Femen, told the Swiss newspaper Le Matin.
Femen said they have targeted countries including Switzerland, France and Spain, with the first protest set for October 29 in the northwestern Swiss town of La Chaux-de-Fonds.
Shevchenko said they were working with a director there on a film about the group.
“We hope the Swiss girls join us topless during our performance in La Chaux-de-Fonds,” she said.
Femen stage regular protests in Kiev and beyond, including most recently over the jailing of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko last week.
