Three Russian engineers who were found dead in Indonesia on Monday while working on a Su fighter plane program, died of methanol poisoning, the Russian ambassador to Indonesia said on Thursday.

An official forensic report shows that the three engineers, who were part of a 12-man team assembling recently delivered Su fighters in southern Indonesia, died from methanol poisoning, Alexander Ivanov said.

The bodies of the three men will be repatriated on Friday, Indonesian officials said.

A $300 million Russia-Indonesia contract signed in August 2007 stipulated the delivery of six Su-30MK fighter planes. Three aircraft were delivered in 2009, while another two were handed over to Indonesia on September 10. Russia says the last plane will be delivered in late September.
