KIEV, October 9 (RIA Novosti) - Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has relieved Boris Nemtsov of his duties as a freelance presidential adviser, the Western-leaning leader's press service said Monday.

"Yushchenko signed a relevant decree on October 9," the press service said.

Since February 2005, Boris Nemtsov, who formerly served as deputy prime minister under Russia's first President Boris Yeltsin and was an ex-leader of Russia's Union of Right Forces, has been working in Ukraine as presidential adviser following the 2004 "orange" revolution in the ex-Soviet republic, which brought Yushchenko to power.
