The State Duma has approved a bill that returns the winter time in Russia and in addition establishes ten time zones in the country. The bill was supported by 436 deputies with one abstention, RIA Novosti says.
Vladimir Gutenev, one of the authors of the bill on the return to "winter time" and first deputy chairman of the State Duma committee on industry, said he regrets that the Russian government has not changed its mind about the return to "winter time."

On Sunday, Russia for the first time in 30 years has not switched to “winter time”. Previously, Russia switched to wintertime putting its clocks one hour back on last Sunday of October.
The authorities of the Tokelau Islands, in the Pacific, have decided to skip December 30th and move from December 29th right to the 31st. Tokelau officially form part of New Zealand, but are almost 24 hours behind the main part of the country time wise.
