Ukrainian forces prepare provocation against Russia in Donetsk
"The SBU [Ukraine's security service] has transferred about 20 personal bodyguards of Dnepropetrovsk Region governor [Igor] Kolomoisky from Kiev to Donetsk. In Donetsk, the group was met by members of the Right Sector [ultranationalist movement]. The group accompanied a cargo of about 200 sets of Russian military uniforms and about 70 [blank] IDs of Russian military officers," the source said.
Federalization supporters in the eastern cities of Kharkiv, Donetsk, Gorlovka, Slaviansk and Kramatorsk have refused to recognize the legitimacy of the current Ukrainian government, demanding Crimea-style referendums on the status of their regions. Last month, pro-federalization supporters took over Donetsk's regional administration, declared an independent People's Republic of Donetsk and scheduled a referendum on the status of the region for May 11.
Kiev's current authorities launched a special operation to crack down on the protesters, leading to violent clashes in major towns of southeastern Ukraine and dozens of casualties. Last Friday, 46 protesters died and over 200 were injured in the port city of Odessa.
