Sochi infrastructure is ready for Olympic games - Medvedev
Before listening to Sport Minister Vitaly Mutko's report on the preparations for the Olympics, Medvedev reiterated: "We should be absolutely sure of the unconditional fulfillment of the Russian government's guarantees."
"A lot of preparations have been made and a lot of control measures have been taken. The president is keeping this issue under constant control. In December and January, I personally inspected a number of Olympic facilities in the coastal and mountain clusters. They all are virtually ready," Medvedev said. The objects have been subjected to serious testing by hosting national test competitions "and generally everything is working," he said.
"Modern sports, transport, energy, communications, healthcare, and hotel service infrastructure has been created in Sochi. A disability-friendly environment has been created, security standards have been put in place in all facilities, and an environmental program has been carried out," Medvedev said.
"The city has changed, no matter what we heard. It has become better and its architectural appearance has improved in many respects," Medvedev said.
