Paris women officially allowed to wear trousers
Late last month, French Minister for Women’s Rights Najat Vallaud-Belkacem made it officially impossible to arrest a woman for wearing trousers in the French capital.
Women in Paris have been officially banned from wearing trousers since 1800.
The relevant law obliged women to ask police for special permission to “dress as men”, or risk being taken into custody.
