Vandals desecrate Orthodox cemetery in Kosovo

Vandals have desecrated five graves at an Orthodox cemetery in Pristina in yet another in a series of anti-Serb sorties by Albanian extremists in Kosovo and Metohija.

Orthodox priests in Kosovo fear for the safety of their families and church property. In another incident, unidentified assailants vandalized the St. Trinity Church in the village of Babljak.

Earlier, Belgrade accused Pristina of pursuing the policy of apartheid against ethnic Serbs.

The Serbian government urged the European Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) and the NATO-led Kosovo Security Force (KFOR) to ensure protection of the Serb population of the region.
