As a result of fighting between the government forces and the rebels, a medieval market protected by UNESCO has been destroyed in Syrian Aleppo, the BBC reports.
A fire started on the market situated in the Old City on Friday, 28 September, and it is still raging until now. The fire began as a result of a gun battle during which both sides used mine-throwers and automatic rifles.
The conflict in Syria has been going on since March last year.
