Russian-born art patron turns 100
Russian-born culture enthusiast and patron of the arts Baron Eduard von Falz-Fein from Liechtenstein is celebrating his 100th birthday.
Falz-Fein was six when he left Russia together with his parents shortly after the 1917 Revolution.
However, his thoughts and soul have always been with Russia.
He assisted with the return of archives and works of art to Russia, helped with the restoration of the Amber Room and made a substantial contribution to the commemoration of the legendary Alpine campaign led by the Russian commander Alexander Suvorov.
Baron Eduard von Falz-Fein has been decorated with several Russian awards in recognition of his years-long activities for the preservation of historical and cultural monuments.
