Sites of Russian opposition media are down

The websites of Russia’s opposition media - daily Kommersant paper, the Echo of Moscow radio station and Dozhd (TV Rain) Channel have undergone massive DDoS (denial of service) attacks and were inaccessible on May 6.  The Echo of Moscow deputy editor- in-chief Vladimir Varfolomeev reported about the attack that had crippled the site in his Twitter blog.

The websites of Russia’s opposition media - daily Kommersant paper, the Echo of Moscow radio station and Dozhd (TV Rain) Channel have undergone massive DDoS (denial of service) attacks and were inaccessible on May 6. 

The Echo of Moscow deputy editor- in-chief Vladimir Varfolomeev reported about the attack that had crippled the site in his Twitter blog.

The same message was posted by Dozhd Channel.

Russian independent paper’s site DDoS attacked

The website of  Russia’s daily Kommersant paper has undergone a large-scale DDoS (denial of service) attack and was  inaccessible on May 6. 

On its Facebook page, the paper stated that this was the most massive attack since 2008 when the site was blocked for a couple of days.

Now the web page is accessible again.
