Norway shooter Breivik on Finland hockey team billboard
In an attempt to create more fun for hockey fans on the way to the arena in Helsinki, organizers installed a huge billboard with images depicting hockey players. The idea was to replace the fan's headshots with the hockey player's faces. Fans could send their photos over Facebook or submit them to the website Maailmansuurinjoukkuekuva.fi.
Once the billboard was installed, that is when then the troubles started. Photos of Norway shooter Breivik and Finnish murderer Nikita Fouganthine appeared on the billboard.
As soon as the images of the Breivik and Fouganthine were noticed, Breivik's image was covered by a image of a dog's face and was eventually cut out completely. Fouganthine was also removed from the billboard. It has not yet been decided whether the billboard will be redone or taken down.
