Lavrov warns against repeat of Libyan scenario in Syria
A repeat of the Libyan scenario in Syria would undermine international stability and damage the UN’s foundations, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Friday.
Speaking at a meeting marking the Diplomats' Day in Moscow earlier today, Lavrov signaled Russia’s readiness to support the Syrian people’s push for better life and justice.
He also added that “Russia is up in arms against any kind of violence and seeks the observation of principles of international law which is a cornerstone of the entire system of international relations.”
“These principles include respect for a country’s sovereignty and non-interference in other countries’ domestic affairs,” Lavrov added.
