More economic projects for Russia's North Caucaus

At least 37 socio-economic projects worth over 400 billion rubles will be implemented in the North Caucasus by year-end, Alexander Khloponin, Presidential Envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District, told reporters on Wednesday. 

Most projects pertain to construction, transportation plus oil and gas sectors, Khloponin explained, stressing the necessity to further resolve unemployment in the region, which ,he said, adds significantly to a terrorism threat.

He added that 88,000 people found jobs in the North Caucasus last year.
