Medvedev to visit both Americas
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev starts a five-day tour to visit both North and South America. On April 12 and 13 he takes part in a summit on nuclear security in Washington organized by President Obama. At the summit, Mr. Medvedev will meet with President José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero of Spain – the chairing nation in the European Union. On April 14 and 15 Dmitry Medvedev plans to be in Buenos Aires – the first ever official visit of a Russian leader to Argentina. Then he’ll go to Brazil to take part in the second full-format summit of the BRIC nations which unites Brazil, Russia, India and China. The agenda includes overcoming the global finance and economic crisis, reforming global management institutions, the Iranian nuclear problem, Middle East settlement and the situation in Haiti.
