Cosmonaut Sevastyanov dies
Soviet-era cosmonaut Vitaly Sevastyanov died in Moscow on Monday. He was 74. Sevastyanov flew on the Soyuz 9 and Soyuz 18 missions in 1970 and 1975 spending a total of 80 days and nights in orbit. Upon retiring from active flight status in 1976 Vitaly Sevastyanov spent many years working with the Energiya space rocket corporation, authored many scientific inventions and was a longtime host of a space-themed TV show in the 1980s.
