Chinese Wildlife Caretaker Pretends to Be Panda as He Cuddles With Cubs

In this adorable video, a keeper at the Wolong National Nature Reserve in China’s Sichuan Province is seen wearing a life-size panda costume as he plays with little cubs.

The sanctuary for pandas provides a natural environment for the animals, which is why its caretakers "dress to reduce stress": they wear panda costumes to protect cubs from human attachment, which can limit pandas' chances of survival in the wild. In addition, the keepers sometimes have to smear bear urine or feces on their costumes in an attempt to mimic a real wildlife situation. This also to protect cubs from getting too stressful and makes them feel like they are with their mothers.
