Terrified Passengers Escape Capsizing Ferry in Indonesia

On Monday, 175 passengers boarded 140-ton commuter ferry KM Wihan Sejahtera in Tanjung Perak Port in East Java, Indonesia, not knowing they would soon be fighting for their lives.

The ship started listing soon after it began taking on water around 650 feet from shore, forcing passengers to rush to the side and hold on while waiting for rescue boats to come. The video shows panic-stricken passengers and crew members escaping the capsizing ferry. There were reportedly no fatalaties, but 25 passengers were promptly taken to hospital soon after the rescue. The vehicle sank completely at 9:30 AM.
