Blown Away! Virtual Reality 3D Tour Into Eye of Tornado

Subscribe
Meteorologists created a 3D virtual reality version of the tornado that hit Oklahoma in 2013.

The 3D visualization provides a chance to step into the eye of a virtual tornado and better understand the way storms behave and progress.

This model uses radar data to recreate the tornado that hit Moore, Oklahoma in 2013. Red areas in the atmosphere represent heavy rain while areas with lighter rainfall are shown in yellow. A dimensional model of the landscape is displayed on the ground.
