New Personal Attorney Denies Trump Researching Pardon Powers on Russia Probe
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – According to media reports, the US Democratic National Committee (DNC) employed Ukrainian consultant Alexandra Chalupa, who looked into the links between former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and the administration of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. Chalupa left the DNC in 2016, but reportedly continued to provide the Committee, as well as then-Democratic candidate Hilary Clinton's campaign, with information about Manafort. According to Chalupa, the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States was helpful in providing her with the relevant information, but the claims were later denied by a former Embassy official.

"Ukrainian efforts to sabotage Trump campaign – ‘quietly working to boost Clinton.’ So where is the investigation A.G.," Trump wrote on Twitter.

However, the US president has not clarified any details about Ukraine's attempts to sabotage his campaign. Trump did, however, criticize Sessions on his "weak position" on Clinton's crimes.

"Attorney General Jeff Sessions has taken a VERY weak position on Hillary Clinton crimes (where are E-mails & DNC server) & Intel leakers!" Trump continued in a follow-up tweet.

James Clapper Suspects US President Trump of 'Making Russia Great Again'
The US leader went on to add that the problem was that Andrew McCabe, the acting director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and person in charge of the investigation into alleged Clinton’s crimes, had received $700,000 from the former Democratic candidate for his wife.

On Wednesday, Trump said in an interview with New York Times that he would have never nominated Sessions for Attorney General if he knew the then-senator would recuse himself from overseeing the Justice Department’s Russia probe. Sessions’ decision to remove himself from the investigation followed The Washington Post’s reports that he had held two meetings with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak, despite denying contacts with Russian officials during his confirmation hearing.
