Trump Soars Over Clinton Week Before US Election Amid FBI Scandal - Poll

US Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is now 1 point ahead of his Democratic challenger Hillary Clinton for the first time since March, a fresh poll showed Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The candidates reversed the lead, which previously belonged to the former US secretary of state, after a new inquiry related to Clinton’s infamous emails was announced by the FBI late last week.

Trump now has the support of 46 percent of likely voters, according to the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll, while Clinton lags behind with 45 percent.

It emerged last year that Clinton had been using a server at her home to receive and send thousands of emails during her time as foreign policy chief in 2009-2013. Some of them were top secret.

FBI chief James Comey reopened the probe into her emails after a cache of 650,000 of them were found on the laptop of former congressman Anthony Weiner, the estranged husband of Clinton’s long-time aide Huma Abedin.
