WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The document with Clinton’s responses was listed as Exhibit A in a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit brought by the conservative Judicial Watch watchdog group against the US Department of State.
"Secretary Clinton states that she does not recall being advised, cautioned, or warned, she does not recall that it was ever suggested to her, and she does not recall participating in any communication, conversation, or meeting in which it was discussed that her use of a clintonemail.com e-mail account to conduct official State Department business conflicted with or violated federal recordkeeping laws," lawyers for Clinton wrote on Thursday.
In the document, Clinton repeated 20 times in formal answers that she had no recollection of ever being warned that her use of a private email account to conduct official State Department business contradicted US federal laws.
US District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan permitted Clinton to answer the questions in writing and not to testify in person as the Judicial Watch plaintiffs in the case had requested, the Politico reported on Thursday.
Clinton claimed in her answers that she had no motive other than convenience in her decision to use a private email account, the document recorded.
